I had just finished my 10th class and was about to step into a new phase of life-Class 11. Everything felt uncertain and new. And then suddenly, something unexpected happened that changed everything.
My best friend’s father had bought a new car. For a middle-class family like ours, it wasn’t just a purchase-it was an emotional milestone, a moment of pride and happiness. To celebrate this special achievement, they decided to go on a spiritual trip to Vaishno Devi Temple.
And then came the surprise…
“Pack your bags-you’re coming with us.”
For a moment, I couldn’t believe it. Me? Going on a trip without my parents? It felt exciting… but also impossible. As expected, my parents were not ready to allow me. After all, it was the first time I would be traveling without them. They were worried, protective, and unsure. But I really wanted to go.
I cried… and cried a lot.
Not out of stubbornness, but because I knew this was more than just a trip—it was my first step towards independence, my first real adventure.
And finally… they said yes. That “yes” changed everything.
At just 16 years old, I packed my bags with excitement, nervousness, and countless dreams. That journey was not just about traveling to a holy place—it was about discovering myself, stepping out of my comfort zone, and creating memories that I would cherish forever.
And just like that…
my first journey began.
